Frequently asked questions

Which banknote counter should I choose for my business?

For retail and hospitality, the V10 counts up to 1,000 notes per minute with counterfeit detection. If you want to count mixed notes of different denominations, choose the V20 (8 currencies) or the V30 (14 currencies); and if you process large amounts of cash every day, the V40 sorts, sets rejects aside and prints the result.

Do banknote counters detect counterfeit notes?

Yes, every Detectalia banknote counter detects counterfeit notes while counting, with ultraviolet, magnetic, infrared and metallic thread sensors; the V20, V30 and V40 add CIS image sensors. When a suspect note is detected, the machine stops or sets it aside.

What does counting mixed notes mean?

Counting mixed notes means feeding in notes of different denominations without sorting them and getting the total value, because the machine recognises each note. The V20, V30 and V40 do this; the V10 counts notes sorted by denomination.

How many notes per minute does a banknote counter count?

Detectalia banknote counters count between 1,000 notes per minute (V10) and 1,200 notes per minute (V20, V30 and V40). A bundle of 100 notes is counted in around 5 seconds.

Can a banknote counter’s currencies be updated?

Yes, the currencies on the V20, V30 and V40 counters are updated via USB with the file supplied by Detectalia, free of charge and without sending the machine anywhere.
