Frequently asked questions
How does a coin counter work?
A coin counter takes mixed coins in its hopper, separates them by size into trays, one per denomination, and calculates the number of coins and the total value. The Detectalia M5 does this at 250 coins per minute with all 8 euro coin denominations.
How long does it take to count a drawer of coins?
The M5 counts 250 coins per minute, so a drawer of 500 coins is counted and sorted in around 2 minutes. The hopper holds 500 coins and can be topped up while the machine works.
Is it suitable for preparing coin bags for the bank?
Yes, the M5 has a batch function with automatic stop: set the number of coins per bag and the machine stops when it reaches it, denomination by denomination.
